Jennie joined WJBF News Channel 6 in 1995. She is from Spartanburg, S.C. and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
An award winning journalist, Jennie has been recognized by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) as “Best On–Air Personality” in 2000, 2001 and 2004. She won the GABBY for “Best Documentary” in 2001 for a series of reports on quadruplets with autism, called Little Boys Lost. In 2005, she received a Merit Award from the GAB for Best Series, “Deadly Hot Cars.”
The National Academy of Television Journalists honored Jennie with the “Best Female Anchor” award in 2000. Twice named Augusta’s “Best News Anchor” by readers of Augusta Magazine, Jennie is most proud to have been given the “Alumni Excellence Award 2000” from her alma mater, Guilford College.
Jennie’s a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She is very involved in the Augusta community through volunteer work with several non–profit agencies, as well as her children’s schools. She’s committed to raising awareness of health issues, from her work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Labor Day Telethon, to Cancer Answer reports and stories of breast cancer survivors in Buddy Check 6.
Jennie is married and has three children, two dogs and a cat. The world’s biggest Gino Vannelli fan, she likes to go camping in tents and cook over an open fire. She enjoys all kinds of art projects, crossword puzzles, and traveling.
