Officials at Augusta’s Family Y is thanking some local soldiers for their support. The Family Y on Wheeler Road hosted a dinner for the soldiers, Wednesday night.

From day one, Lantz Lamback never let cerebral palsy slow him down. Last month, in China, the Augustan won more medals…four…than any other U.S. male swimmer in the Paralympics. Lantz is back in the Garden City, working at the Family Y as an adapted aquatics instructor. As WJBF News Channel 6’s Chris Kane reports, Lamback’s life is finally getting back to normal.

The Family Y celebrates its 150th anniversary, giving people something inexpensive and fun to do.  All of this, while trying to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records.  WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop explains.

Augusta native, Amy Grant will perform at First Tee, Sunday, October 12th. It’s a fundraiser for the Family Y. The event is also an attempt to be inducted into the Guinness Book Of World Records for the world’s largest family picnic. There are tickets still available.
