Right-sizing the efficiency of Augusta’s schools was the topic at an education conference. Statewide budget cuts are causing school systems across the board to get creative and slash school spending. A suspect being sought for last week’s deadly home invasion, in which 23-year-old Jezreel Hammond, was killed. A suspect in that case was spotted in a neighborhood, Tuesday morning, near Pendleton King Park. A manhunt was launched on the 2000 block of Shirley Avenue…the perimeter was later expanded to an Augusta housing project…Cherry Tree Crossing.
