Man Accused of Child Molestation Will Soon Face Jury

Shannon Russell Jackson is charged with raping and sodomizing and 11-year-old child.  He has been in the Burke County jail for the past year. His trial starts in two weeks.  Jackson faces life in prison on the rape charges alone. Count on Renita Crawford for the latest in this developing story.

Brian Charles Baggi is charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree. Investigators say his wife was run over by the 18 wheeler he was driving. Count on Renita Crawford for the latest in the investigation.

According to a release from the GBI, on Thursday evening, November 20th, the FBI, Florida Division of Law Enforcement, and the Suwannee Florida County Sheriff’s Department arrested the following subjects in connection with the death of Canche Reina, in Burke County, earlier this month.

The GBI is helping to investigate the murder of a Savannah woman in Burke County.

Suspects Wanted In Robbery And High-Speed Chase In Which Officers Were Shot At

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, two suspects are wanted in connection with the Armed Robbery of the Huddle House, in Waynesboro, Georgia on Saturday night. After the robbery, the suspects were involved in a high-speed chase, in which shots were fired at several police officers. The suspects are known to be armed at this time. The suspects are identified as 20-year-old Julian Durden, III and 23-year-old William Dalzell.

Groups Object To Dredging For Plant Vogtle Expansion

The federal agency that oversees nuclear power plants says the effects of dredging on the Savannah River must be explored before permits for a proposed expansion at Plant Vogtle can be considered. In a ruling Friday, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Atomic Safety & Licensing Board agreed with environmental groups that contend dredging would have a significant impact and was not addressed in earlier studies.

Burke County Teenager Attacked By Pit Bulls

A Burke County teenager is recovering after being viciously attacked by pit bulls. According to Burke County investigators he was bitten by three dogs last week at his home.
