Aiken investigators are still looking for a suspect in a New Year’s Day shooting. A 19-year-old was struck in the head and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Rash Of Burglaries In Aiken

Aiken Public Safety officers need your help to stop a rash of burglaries. Investigators say they’ve had more than 30 burglaries in the past month. While they can’t prove all of them are related, police say there are many similarities. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has more.

Aiken Department Of Public Safety officers are searching for a bank robbery suspect. Investigators say, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon, someone got away with cash from the Security Federal Bank, on Richland Avenue.

Aiken County Weekend Roundup Nets 30 Arrests

According to Lt. Michael Frank, as a result of a two-month undercover drug investigation, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with other local and state agencies, arrested 30 people, early Friday, at a home at 155 Kip Road, in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Aiken Woman Who Unlawfully Took Kids To New Mexico Extradicted

According to Lt. David Turno, with the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS), 29-year-old Veronica Kirby, of Aiken, who was arrested on November 1st, after being arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been extradicted back to Aiken.

UPDATED: Mobile Meth Lab Busted In Aiken

Two people are in custody in Aiken County, accused of making meth. They were busted Monday afternoon after being pulled over for making an improper turn. Police say the it was an active lab. Authorities tell us the two were near the end of the manufacturing process. Now, they are in jail and their alleged drug kitchen, their Cadillac, will likely be destroyed because of the dangerous chemicals found inside. WJBF News Channel 6’s Paige Tucker has more.

Aiken Public Safety Mounted Patrol Tandem Retires

Two Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Officers are heading off to greener pastures…literally, for one of them. Kojak, the one on four legs, and Lieutenant Donald Butler have patroled together for years. Lt. Butler has been with ADPS for 33 years, and he got Kojak to sign up about 9 years ago. The two have been inseparable in their police work, and they did one final task together, as a team…they retired.
