Aiken, SC—Tuesday night, screaming fans flashed their smiles and their cameras…

Kicks 99 Crew: “Your hometown heroes….Lady Antebellum!“

…And welcomed back home, two of their own.

Dave Haywood lifted his trademark guitar, and took his place next to childhood friend Charles Kelley.

Charles Kelley, Lady Antebellum: “It’s good to be home!“

In the middle of thousands of screaming fans, were two of the bands biggest:

Dr. Van Haywood, Dave Haywood’s Father: “It’s unbelievable, it’s just such a blessing, we can’t quite describe it.“

Dave’s parents were in Nashville last week, when Lady Antebellum won the “Top New Group” at this year’s CMA awards.

Angie Haywood, Dave Haywood’s Mother: “And as we heard their name, it was just that moment of shock and disbelief and the joy that you experience, just being able to and I hugged him and squeezed his neck and it was like ‘oh yeah, I have to let go so he can be able to go up and accept his award.“

“Lady A” took home the award…and then took a trip back home, looking for a good time:

Kelley: “All right let’s do this.“

Angie Haywood: “Now to be able to come home with them, and share that with all of our friends here.“

Dr. Haywood: “You always wonder what they’re going to develop into and what they’re going to be, and to see something happen that’s so tangible and so far reaching…“

So chances are, if anybody came looking for a good time, Lady Antebellum gave it to them.

Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley met at Riverside Middle School in Evans, GA. The band now lives in Nashville, TN.
