Barnwell County Man Dies In Aiken County Traffic Accident
According to Aiken County Coronoer Tim Carlton, a 23-year-old Barnwell County man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle crash on Old Barnwell Road, in Aiken County, Tuesday morning at 8:34 a.m.

Aiken County, SC—According to Aiken County Coronoer Tim Carlton, a 23-year-old Barnwell County man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle crash on Old Barnwell Road, in Aiken County, Tuesday morning at 8:34 a.m.
The driver of a 2003 Chevrolet pickup has been identified as Roger K. Dunbar, of Snelling, SC. Mr. Dunbar was traveling northwest on Old Barnwell Road, when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve, and struck a utility pole.
According to witnesses, Mr. Dunbar was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision, and the vehicle caught fire on impact. Mr. Dunbar was thought to be going to work at Honda Cars of Aiken.
This the 25th fatal crash in Aiken County is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. Mr. Dunbar died from multiple body trauma and was not wearing his seatbelt.
Toxicology is pending.
