UNDATED—Hurricane Ike is long gone, but these gas troubles are hanging around. Two weeks ago, we were at a gas station, wondering why in the world the lines were so long.
Wednesday night, we were looking at the same thing.
The lines at Murphy USA, in North Augusta, were backed up onto Knox Avenue. They were one of the few that had any gas left, at $3.65..that is, until they ran out while we were there. Of course, we can thank the recent hurricanes for that.
The Gulf is home to a quarter of U.S. oil production...66 percent of those refineries are still shut down, nd what we’ve been seeing is the result.
Greg’s Gas Plus is another example of what we saw, Wednesday night. It was packed, earlier Wednesday. A few hours later...empty with no gas. So, hopefully things will get back to normal, soon. Until then, it looks like we’re just going to have to wait it out.

Why aren’t other areas of the country having gas shortages?? No lines and #3.43 a gal. in MN?? Ike never caused a ripple here.
