The Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation makes sure that no burn patient goes without the medication and supplies they need to fully recover after leaving the hospital, but they do more than that. Through the Chavis House, the foundation gives the patients' families a home away from home, food, and sometimes even transportation – making sure that the burn patient doesn't just have the care of the hospital staff; they have the love and support of their family.

Just like it did with suicide and depression, the death of Robin Williams brought renewed attention to Parkinson's Disease after it was reveal by Williams' wife that he was in the early stages of the neurological disease. While many speculate that the disease played a part in Williams' decision to end his life, the future is actually quite hopeful for people living with it.

Signs, Symptoms, and Options For People With ALS

    Monday, August 25 2014 5:40 PM EDT2014-08-25 21:40:36 GMT
For weeks now social media and has been filled with videos of people dumpling buckets of ice water over their head in an attempt to bring about awareness for ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. And, since the start of that challenge, over 70 million dollars has been raised by the ALS Association. That is compared to the 2.5 million dollars raised during the same time period last year. It is a win for the association, but how much do people really know about the debilitating disease?
