    Revenues at South Carolina's ports were up sharply during the fiscal year that ended June 30th. The South Carolina Ports Authority reports that revenues for the fiscal year were $164 million, a 17 percent increase over the previous year. Operating earnings were about $14 million. That's about 20 percent above the agency's projections. The ports authority says the April-through-June quarter of this year was the strongest quarter for the ports since 2007 when the Great Recession began.

    A Charleston boy is recovering after being bitten multiple times by a shark Wednesday afternoon on Folly Beach, according to a report by our South Carolina sister station WCBD.The incident happened just after 2:00 p.m. near East Ashley Avenue, said Fire Chief Steve Mims at Folly Beach Public Safety.     One person is dead after being shot early Thursday morning in Myrtle Beach.Myrtle Beach Police Spokesperson David Knipes says that the police were called around 2:30 this morning to the Wave Rider Resort.The male victim was dead upon arrival.The police are actively searching for the shooting suspect, who Knipes describes as a white male, 6'1”, and about 200 pounds.
