ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - After a tumultuous offseason, Georgia coach Mark Richt is dismissing any suggestion that he needs to toughen up the way he runs his football program. ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia quarterback Hutson Mason plans to remember his good friend Philip Lutzenkirchen throughout the season. The former Auburn tight end was killed in a June 29 car accident. Mason and Lutzenkirchen were teammates at Lassiter High School in suburban Atlanta and remained good friends, even after signing with rival schools.

CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Michael Strahan is pleased to know he is scheduled to go last during the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. That means the former New York Giants star pass-rusher won't be the first to break down in tears once the 2014 seven-member class is inducted today.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis guard Damien Wilson is transferring. In a school release Friday, Memphis coach Josh Pastner said Wilson is in good academic standing but he wants a fresh start. Wilson is from Atlanta.
